Four Private Lessons Included

The lessons are one of the most important parts of our Board & Train program.

A trained dog is only successful when the owner knows how to maintain that training. Throughout the program, our priority is to train you just as much as we train your dog. We teach you how to properly use the training tools, communicate clearly, and continue building on the foundation we’ve established.

You will receive four private lessons, each approximately 1–2 hours long.

Lesson 1 — On-Leash Obedience

Typically scheduled 7–10 days after your dog’s arrival, this lesson takes place at our facility.

You and your family will visit with your dog while receiving an in-depth education on the on-leash commands your dog has learned. After a demonstration from our trainers, you’ll get hands-on practice working your dog through each command.

Lesson 2 — E-Collar & Off-Leash Training

Typically scheduled 15–20 days after your dog’s arrival, this 1.5–2 hour lesson takes place at our facility.

You’ll learn how to properly use the remote e-collar system, watch an off-leash demonstration, and then practice handling your dog both inside the facility and outside in our training field.

Lesson 3 — Public & Go-Home Lesson

Lesson 3 combines real-world public training with your dog’s transition home.

Depending on weather and your lifestyle, we’ll meet at a location that fits your needs—such as Home Depot, Carrollton Square, a coffee shop, or another dog-friendly location. This allows us to work through obedience in a real-world environment and prepare you to successfully transition your dog’s training into everyday life.

Lesson 4 — Follow-Up Lesson

Your fourth lesson is designed around you and your dog’s individual needs.

You can return to our facility, have us meet you at home, or schedule a lesson in public. This lesson can be used as a tune-up, to address a specific challenge, or to help you continue progressing with your dog’s training.

More Than a Trained Dog

The most important thing to understand about our Board & Train program is that you aren’t simply paying for a trained dog—you are investing in an education.

We want you to leave our program understanding your dog, understanding the tools, and feeling confident in your ability to communicate effectively and maintain your dog’s training.

Our goal isn’t just to change your dog’s behavior while they’re with us. It’s to give you the knowledge and skills to continue that transformation for years to come.

  • Dogs must be 6 months or older to participate in our Board & Train program.

  • An in-person evaluation is required to book a 3-week Board and Train.

  • Vaccine requirements: Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, and Lepto.

Behavioral Rehabilitation Board & Train Program

4 Week Program

Our 4-Week Rehabilitation Board & Train is designed for dogs struggling with more complex behavioral challenges that require focused, structured training. This program is ideal for dogs experiencing fear, anxiety, reactivity, aggression, resource guarding, environmental instability, poor impulse control, or difficulty appropriately interacting with people and other dogs.

Through structured obedience, controlled exposure, confidence building, and behavior modification, we work to create clearer communication between dog and owner while teaching the dog more appropriate responses to challenging situations.

This program includes all of the same basic obedience training, training equipment, and four lessons included in our 3-Week Basic Obedience Board & Train program, with an additional week dedicated to addressing the dog’s specific behavioral challenges.

Our goal is to help each dog become more confident, stable, manageable, and successful in everyday life, while giving owners the tools and understanding needed to continue that progress at home.

  • Dogs must be 6 months or older to participate in our Board & Train program.

Private Lessons

Private lessons at Ronin K9 Training are offered on a limited basis and are designed for owners who are committed to being actively involved in their dog’s training.

Before beginning lessons, an in-person evaluation of both the dog and owner is required. This allows us to determine whether private lessons are the right fit and to create an appropriate training plan based on your individual goals.

Private lessons are one of the most hands-on and time-intensive approaches to dog training. Success requires a significant commitment from the owner both during lessons and through consistent practice at home. While this approach requires more work from the handler, it can be an incredibly rewarding way to learn the intricacies of dog training, improve communication, and build a deeper relationship with your dog.

Boarding for Board & Train Graduates

One of the biggest benefits of completing a Board & Train program with Ronin K9 is having a place you can trust when you travel.

Our Board & Train graduates are welcome to return to us for boarding, giving your dog the opportunity to stay in a familiar environment with trainers they already know and trust. While they’re with us, we incorporate training, consistency, structured group play, and daily routines to help maintain the skills and structure they learned during their Board & Train program.

Instead of simply boarding your dog, we use their stay as an opportunity to reinforce good habits, maintain obedience, and keep their training sharp.

Travel with confidence knowing your dog is staying with the same trainers who helped transform them in the first place.
